We’re so proud of the difference that young people on our programmes make with their social action projects. ❤️👏🏻For this On Track to Achieve programme young people from St George’s School in Kent partnered with Kent Police, Southeastern Railway and Lent Community Foundation.They chose to share messages of hope with those struggling with their mental health and who may be considering suicide.Working with their athlete mentor, Claire Bennett, they created boards at railway stations displaying their messages.Dame Kelly Holmes Trust Programmes make a difference to young people’s lives and they pass that difference on 🥰 Southeastern Railway Kent Police #getontrack | #championinyourcorner | #suicideprevention

We're so grateful to the companies and organisations who fund and take part in our projects. They are making such a difference to the lives of young people. Young people from Mercia School in Sheffield recently visited the Mott McDonald offices as part of their On Track to Achieve programme. Visiting the offices was a great opportunity for them to understand more about the world of work and widen their understanding of different types of work that could be available to them in the future. As on all our projects, their experiences help them with confidence as they interact with the teams and take part in activities. Exam time can put a huge strain on young people and it's important they have time out from studying to de-stress and have fun. 📚Students on our AQA Unlocking Potential Programme at Birches Academy chose to tackle this. Along with their Athlete Mentor, Jenna Downing, they delivered sports wellbeing sessions to Y10 students to reduce stress during exam time. All our programmes give the participants the autonomy to think of projects themselves which will benefit others in their community. Young people on our programmes passing on their positivity! Students on our On Track To Achieve programme from Woodchurch High spent time supporting Year 6 pupils from local primary schools with their transition to high school at Mind Matters events. The young people helped the Year 6 pupils to grow their confidence, build social skills and improve wellbeing. We're Unlocking Potential with Social Action Projects. 👏Students from West Exe school worked with their athlete mentor Dave Hill to make meals to share with a local homelessness charity. Here are some of the young people on the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust Unlocking Potential project cooking lasagna. 🥕 🍲 🧅All Social Action Projects are chosen by the students themselves and are on issues that are close to their hearts and meets the needs of their local community. We can hardly contain our excitement about the Champions Ball tomorrow! 🎉 🌟And, of course, we're looking forward to celebrating the 20 year anniversary of Kelly’s Double Olympic Gold win on the evening too!Such a lot has happened since then, including a huge amount of young people's lives being transformed by the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.
